These 7N7 loctals are a terrific signal tube that breed a lot of neutrality into my WA22 amplifier from Woo Audio in particular.
They have great top end detail without being glaringly bright or harsh. They just have natural presence. The bass is not bloated or embellished in any way. Has a very even keel response and depending on your headphones that can be a very good thing. The mids are wonderful. Vocals have a beautiful presence while the upper mids really stay in check and never get into offensive territory unless you throw really poorly mastered or mixed recordings at them. Overall the 7N7 offers a nice litmus test to understand music recordings in a very truthful and insightful way.
I can easily recommend these tubes from Jim and Charles. You get what you pay for.
