Very nice, well made PCB boards. Solder pads quality & size are perfect. Not much else to say about them. They are not cheaply made & have been well thought out.
I bought these to try in my Universal 12/6sn7 Universal kit preamp. There has been a couple minor changes to the board but it’s basically the same as the V3 version except for the option to use or bypass the newly added bypass capacitor for the 1st stage cathode resistor.
What I perceived in my set up & equipment was a slightly fuller sound. I perceive a slightly darker background, a smidge better clarity, smoother sound. I say “slightly” & “smidge” but these things are definitely audible & perceivable in my opinion. Better dynamics, quicker punch. I definitely noticed the change in gain vs the V3 PCB. It doesn’t mesh well with all my amps but I will say that adding just that single bypass capacitor really changes the performance of this preamp. I wasn’t sure if I would prefer the “new” sound vs what I was used to but for me the overall performance & sound of this preamp is better when using the bypass capacitor.
